The Huawei Nova 12 Pro may be the first smartphone to use Huawei’s alleged Kirin 830 processor.
The Huawei Nova 11 series made its debut in China back in April this year, featuring Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G SoC. Now, there are indications of the Huawei Nova 12 lineup being developed as the possible successor to the Nova 11 series. Although the official details about the Huawei Nova 12 and Huawei Nova 12 Pro have not been disclosed, their primary specifications have emerged on Weibo, the Chinese microblogging platform. Both models are rumored to come with displays featuring a 120Hz refresh rate, safeguarded by Huawei’s Kunlun glass. They are also expected to be powered by Huawei’s Kirin chips and might include a 60-megapixel front camera.
A tipster named Moorish Sky posted the essential specifications of the Huawei Nova 12 and Huawei Nova 12 Pro on Weibo. According to the leak, both models will have displays featuring a 120Hz refresh rate and Huawei’s Kunlun glass for protection against drops. The Pro version is rumored to be equipped with the Kirin 9000S platform, which is the same mobile chip that drives the Huawei Mate 60. The standard Huawei Nova 12 might be equipped with the Kirin 830 SoC, which has not been officially unveiled yet.
Regarding the camera setup, both the Huawei Nova 12 and Huawei Nova 12 Pro are said to come with a triple rear camera arrangement. The regular model’s camera setup may consist of a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 12-megapixel sensor, and an 8-megapixel shooter. On the other hand, the Huawei Nova 12 Pro’s camera unit is rumored to feature two 50-megapixel sensors and a 12-megapixel sensor.
Both smartphones are expected to be equipped with a 60-megapixel front camera. Additionally, it is suggested that both phones will offer satellite messaging capabilities, allowing users to send and receive messages through satellite connectivity.
As for the batteries, the Huawei Nova 12 is reported to come with a 4,800mAh battery that supports 88W fast charging, while the Pro model could feature a 4,900mAh battery with 100W fast charging.
The Huawei Nova 12 series could serve as the successor to the Huawei Nova 11 series, which was launched earlier this year in China. However, the official release date for these phones has not been confirmed by the company. The Huawei Nova 11 was priced starting at CNY 2,499 (approximately Rs. 29,800), while the Huawei Nova 11 Pro began at CNY 3,499 (roughly Rs. 41,800).
