Initial reports hinted at a potential release date of October 19, although OnePlus has not officially confirmed the precise launch date. In the meantime, there have been numerous leaks and rumors circulating regarding the phone’s design and specifications. It is likely to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Ahead of its launch in India, there have been reports of Indian actress Anushka Sharma using the OnePlus Open smartphone.
YouTube creator Sufiyan Khan (@RealSufiyanKhan) recently shared images on X, where he claimed that Anushka Sharma was seen holding the OnePlus Open smartphone. From the glimpses provided, one could discern the smartphone’s camera unit. Although OnePlus has announced the forthcoming launch of the OnePlus Open in India, the specific release date for the foldable device has not been disclosed.
The smartphone is expected to be launched in October, with an earlier report suggesting a potential debut on October 19. Initially, the OnePlus Open was rumored to launch in August, but the release was delayed due to a change in the display manufacturer.
Previous reports have suggested that the OnePlus Open may feature an outward folding design, similar to other Android foldables such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, Pixel Fold, and Vivo X Fold 2. The expected price for the foldable device is rumored to be below Rs. 1,20,000. In terms of specifications, it is anticipated to feature an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of built-in storage. The OnePlus Open smartphone is likely to have a 7.8-inch AMOLED inner display and a 6.3-inch AMOLED cover screen.
The foldable device is rumored to include a triple rear camera module arranged in a circular configuration.
