The royal family is gathered at Queen Elizabeth II’s bedside in Balmoral Castle, Scotland, where she is receiving medical care.
“Following more assessment this morning, the Queen’s physicians are worried for her health and have advised that she stay under medical monitoring. The Queen is still relaxed and in Balmoral, according to a statement from Buckingham Palace.
The regular programming on BBC One was paused, and the presenter of the station, Huw Edwards, was seen donning the BBC’s funeral attire of a dark suit, a white shirt, and a black tie.
The head of the Church of England and Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, wrote on Twitter that “the prayers of people across… the country, are today with Her Majesty The Queen.”
