The majority of Ghanaian celebrities have used Twitter to express their outrage over recent police arrests and allegations of brutality against protesters during the #OccupyJulorbiHouse action that took place on September 21, 2023.
The injustice experienced by peaceful protestors this morning has been voiced by artists like Stonebwoy, Wendy Shay, Black Sherif, Kofi Kinaata, Kwesi Arthur, Medikal, Sarkodie, Mr. Drew, and others.
A few hours ago, 49 people suspected of participating in an illegal assembly and breaking the Public Order Act were detained by Ghanaian police. The Jubilee House and the 37 Military Hospital area are close by where these arrests took place.
Many Ghanaians have expressed their outrage at how the government have handled the situation on social media in response to the arrests and claims of brutality against protestors.

Bridget Otoo, a news presenter for Metro TV in Ghana and a well-known media figure, earlier gave a thorough account of how certain police officers mistreated her at a recent protest by activists.
Today, September 21st 2023, activists organised the #OccupyJulorbiHouse (Julorbi, a corruption of Jubilee House, to wit: “son of a thief”) protest.Police, however, dispersed the demonstration and apprehended individuals there; the majority of them were taken to a number of police stations scattered throughout the nation’s capital.
TV host Bridget Otoo was one of the people who was arrested and mistreated.
She added that several of the protesters’ phones had also been taken by the police.
Bridget described how she attempted to stop a young man from being taken away by some police officers for committing no crime, causing her dress to rip.
Bridget Otoo expressed her dissatisfaction with the way the security guards handled the entire situation.
