The Sharp Aquos Sense 8 made its debut in Japan on Wednesday. This smartphone is available in a single storage configuration and is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. It comes pre-installed with Android 13 and features a dual rear camera setup. It can be purchased in three different colors. Before launching the Aquos Sense 8 series earlier this year, Sharp introduced the Aquos R8 series, which included both base and pro models featuring Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoCs and dual rear cameras.
Price of the Sharp Aquos Sense 8: The Aquos Sense 8 is available in Cobalt Black, Light Copper, and Pale Green color options. It is offered in a single configuration with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. In Japan, it is priced at JPY 62,150, which is approximately Rs. 34,700.
Specifications of the Sharp Aquos Sense 8: The Aquos Sense 8 sports a 6.1-inch full-HD+ IGZO OLED display with a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels. The display boasts a refresh rate of 90Hz and a brightness of 1300 nits. Under the hood, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 Mobile Platform SoC, coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, expandable up to 1TB using a microSD card. It runs on Android 13 out of the box and comes with a promise of three major OS updates and five years of security patches.
In terms of photography, the dual rear camera setup on the Aquos Sense 8 consists of a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8-megapixel sensor equipped with an ultra-wide-angle lens. For selfies and video calls, there is an 8-megapixel front camera.
The device is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, which claims to provide up to 10 hours of battery life. It offers support for 5G, Wi-Fi 5, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity. Security features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. It also retains a 3.5mm headphone jack. The handset boasts an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, along with MIL-STD-810G certification for durability.
